English programme per level

This programme aims to strengthen oral and written skills, while developing fluent communication in everyday life, both in personal and professional situations.

Basics (A1) & Everyday life (A2)

  • Understanding and using familiar expressions and basic phrases aimed at meeting concrete needs (ordering a coffee, asking for directions, making an appointment, asking for help, writing a simple email, etc.), ask questions, get to know people, talk about yourself and your surroundings, ask for help
  • Understanding and using frequently used phrases and expressions related to everyday situations, particularly in the field of services (reception, sales, shops, restaurants: taking and placing orders, telephone conversations, making reservations, communicating about a problem, going to the doctor, etc.)

Low intermediate (B1.1) | Intermediate 1 (B1.2) | Intermediate 2 (B1.3) | High Intermediate (B1.4)

Depending on the level,

  • Personal information: talking about yourself, your education, your family, your hobbies.
  • Interpersonal communication: expressing your tastes, giving advice, suggesting ideas, inviting people, apologising, asking for information, communicating within a relationship, expressing doubts, talking about past and future events.
  • Daily life and services: expressing satisfaction, disappointment, regret, describing places and people, organising a trip, using everyday services, making a complaint or claim.
  • Social issues: discussing current affairs, environment, education, social change and history, using a variety of materials, including authentic documents.
  • Health: vocabulary and exchanges related to medical field and well-being.

• Professional and business communication: developping basic English in a professional context to talk about your work, interacting during an interview or a meeting, making a phone call, writing a message, presenting a company, product or career, negotiating, making speculations, responding to offers.

Advanced levels (B2.1 et B2.2)

  • Business and professional English (employment, economics, technology, forecasting, problem solving, describing trends, making offers, advertising, etc.),
  • History and civilisation (American and British culture, varieties of English, sayings and proverbs, personal beliefs, cultural differences, ethical issues, current affairs), using cumulative tenses – Phrasal verbs in context – Complex passive constructions – Complex linking phrases and expressions – Reported speech – etc.

PLEASE NOTE : when enrolment is taking place (at the start of the module), secretarial availability is reduced. Your equiries are dealt with preferably between 10 :00am and 1 :00pm, from Monday to Thursday.
